Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) meets on the Wednesday after the first Sunday of each month at 6:30 pm.  During each meeting we have a time of prayer requests and scripture reading.

The objectives of WMU are:

• Pray for missions
• Engage in mission action and witnessing
• Learn about missions
• Support missions

We achieve these objectives by focusing on mission work in our church and community.  We participate in (and encourage others in our church to help) many mission-focused activities each year, most of which are through the Chilhowee Baptist Center.

• Resurrection Celebration – this event provides families with totes containing bath towels, soaps, toothbrushes and toothpaste, cleaning supplies, etc.
• Pack a Pack – this event provides school supplies for children as they prepare to return to school for a new year
• Happy Birthday, Jesus Celebration – this event provides toys to children (birth – teens) for Christmas

The ladies of the Six Mile WMU also organize a Secret Sister event each year where we secretly provide a sister in Christ with prayer, gifts, encouragement and love throughout the year.  We have a reveal event usually in August/September where we learn who our Secret Sister actually is.
